New Mega-Telescope Will Soon Rise in Chile's Andes Mountains

The Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT) completed several major external reviews earlier this year and is on target to break ground in the Chilean Andes before the end of 2014. The huge scope should begin observing the heavens early in the next decade.
